Volunteers come by the Hundreds! Five workteams reach out to many families
The week of June 22 was hot and dry but this was not discouraging to five church volunteer teams who brought nearly 200 youth and adult disciples to serve and to give of themselves. Dozens of very needy families were blessed with home repairs and the personal relationships that flourished. The groups included:
- Holy Lutheran Church, Kingsport, Tenn.
- Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, Alpharetta, Ga.
- Christ United Methodist Church, Greensboro, N.C.
- Providence Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, N.C.
- First United Methodist Church, Crawfordsville, Indiana
On Tuesday evening, these volunteers and many others joined for a joyous Seafood Jamboree on a beautiful evening at the Mission. Nearly 350 individuals came to sing, offer praise, enjoy fellowship and a terrific meal as only the Mission staff can prepare. Some Jamboree pictures are provided below.
Thank you to all these workteams!
