Migrant Headstart Program Opens for 2009

Rural Mission Migrant Headstart has opened for 2009 to serve the preschool children of migrant and seasonal farm workers. We are very appreciative of the continued support for this vital program for migrant families from the East Coast Migrant Headstart Program. The Rural Mission has participated in this network of programs as a delegate agency for over 25 years. Dana Rogers serves has Migrant Headstart Director for the Mission. This year also represents a major expansion and achievement for the Rural Mission with the opening of the new Migrant Headstart Center in Lodge in Colleton County.

Please come visit either the Center on Johns Island or at Lodge and learn more about the needs of these children and the opportunities given through East Coast Migrant Headstart. Learn about this comprehensive educational and program of care for these young Hispanic children. Learn about their culture. Migrant families face many hardships. Please inquire at the Mission to see about ways that you can help support these children and their families.
