The Trident United Way ? Day of Caring for 2010 was a terrific day for the Rural Mission and two island families that saw their homes worked on by these great volunteers. We thank all the volunteers from Second Presbyterian Church in Charleston and the Blackbaud Company on Daniel Island.

We also thank both groups for their financial contributions that paid for this work and then some. Our special thanks also go to two area businesses that donated a tasty lunch to both groups ? Newton Farms at Freshfield Village on Seabrook Island and Billy Dees Restaurant on Johns Island.

This work also would not have been possible without the donated skills and instruction from John Pohle, President of Compass Rose Design Builders of Mt. Pleasant, and Southern Lumber and Millwork that helped with materials costs.

The Day of Caring is all about giving back to the community by volunteering at a many different schools and nonprofits. Both of our teams helped to give a very needy family a decent home. This will make a lasting and incredible contribution to the future of these families. It will also provide many memories and good feelings for those who gave and cared enough to get involved.

Thank you Trident United Way and all our volunteers for a great day!
