A tradition of caring continues!

Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to the students and teachers of Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., who have been coming to the Rural Mission for 17 years. This year’s terrific group of 27 volunteers upheld a long-time tradition of caring and connection that has become even more special with each new year. These enthusiastic and energetic high school students enjoy each other and grow in appreciation and purpose as they work to make life better for island residents.

This year’s projects included roof repairs and a porch and wheelchair ramp for Mr. Seabrook on Wadmalaw Island a badly needed new roof for Mrs. Stanley on Johns Island. Other homes where also improved and repaired for family members living near to Mr. Seabrook.

The Mission and its staff and these families are extremely appreciative for their caring and hard work. These young people have blessed these families and our prayers and best wishes go with them.
