New Home Brings Hope and Joy!

p>On Saturday June 4, Mrs. Gethers and her family welcomed many guests, family, fellow members at Wesley UMC on Johns Island and volunteers who helped to make this new home possible. Thank You ALCOA Volunteers!

p>One of our most pressing needs is answering the urgent requests from families and seniors who are in need of a handicap ramp for their home. We were blessed this week when a large group of volunteers from Alcoa Corp. in Mt. Holly, Berkeley County, answered this call and completed two ramps funded by a grant from Alcoa. They worked hard, thoroughly enjoyed the day and a mid-day meal and rest at Wesley UMC in Hollywood. These ramps will change the lives of these very appreciative seniors. A marvelous day of sharing! Tuesday, May 10 was a wonderful night for the Rural Mission at the Vanderhorst Mansion on Kiawah Island. We are so grateful to Anne Darby Parker and the Darby family for hosting this special benefit for over 60 persons who came to learn about our work and ministry. The evening could not have been more perfect with a clear sky and great sunset, a pleasant breeze and great food, music and time spent with friends.
